Esky Honey Bee CP2

The Honey Bee CP2 is a collective pitch 6ch helicopter, similar to the E-flite Blade CP. It is closely related to the Honey Bee FP, with which it shares many parts.
The CP2 has a poor reputation for fly/fix ratio due to problems such as the collective sticking and inconsitant blade tracking.
The problems may be due to several design issues:
- Blade grip bearings wear fast because radial bearings used to carry axial loads.
- Stepped washers should be used in the blade grip but most seem to have been assembled with plain washers. This causes the outer race of the bearing to be clamped as well as the inner race. This can be improved by switching round the two washers under the head of the screw inside the blade grip.
- The blade grips have the pitch horns on the trailing side of the grip. Switching things round improves blade tracking and general performance, but requires a programmable Tx.
