Talk:Mountain Models Magpie
From EFlightWiki
I removed "The model is more pitch sensative in higher winds it may be nessary to feed some down elevator in to keep the nose down. Porpoising can deffinatly be a problem on windy days." because it cannot be true. Flying qualities of airplanes are unrelated to wind speed. They can be affected by turbulence yes, but not by speed.

Most trainers need to fly faster on windy days, which needs some down elevator to overcome the natural pitch stability. I guess this would lead to porpoising if you just do it manually rather than changing the trim. I agree with the edit though, the model should not be criticised for this behaviour.--RobinBennett 12:27, 21 May 2008 (MDT)
